How do you win at 2048?
Merge matching tiles upward — 2, 4, 8, 16, all the way to 2048. You do not need to clear the board or reach it in any particular way; a single 2048 tile is the win. After that the game keeps going, so most players carry on chasing 4096 and a higher score.
Is there a trick to 2048?
Yes — one habit does most of the work: keep your largest tile locked in a corner and build a descending row out from it, feeding the board with mainly two directions. Does 2048 ever truly end?
Only when the board is full and no two neighbouring tiles match, so no move changes anything. Until you hit that exact state a move still exists.
